18th July – Radcote Lodge

We had an excellent turn out of volunteers on Saturday morning with fourteen of us to commence our new project !

Working with the residents of Radcote Lodge, to make their community garden into a nicer more enjoyable place to spend time. Under the direction of our newly appointed Project Leader, for this site, Jeff Drake, we set to work clearing weeds from boarders and between paving slabs, repairing raised beds around the rose bushes and having a good general tidy up.
Our work was rewarded by tea, coffee and biscuits served by two lovely ladies from the Lodge.

We are working in conjunction with The Green Gym, who are able to attend a few time a year, and look forward to this being a great partnership working together going forward. Jeff has already invited Simon and myself to appear on his Hospital Radio show to let everyone know what TMAEG is all about.

A little bit of “finding our feet” with a new project but soon got stuck in.

Rose boarder beds in need of repair and general TLC, whilst gravel beds were full of weeds

Rose boarders repaired and weeded and then had chance for much deserved coffee and biscuits
