On Saturday 19th September 32 members of TMAEG met to hold a review of their 15th year of operation and to hold a formal Annual General Meeting.
The meeting was fortunate to have Liberal Democrat Councillor Marie Bradburn in attendance at the start to meet members in a social setting.
Steve Raine told the audience that 17 different sites across Two Mile Ash were visited by volunteers on 31 occasions to work on environmental projects.
He highlighted the newly planted areas outside One Stop and the Post Office which all residents will benefit from.
During the meeting it was time to thank TMAEG founder Chris Gossop who stepped down after 15 years of leadership. The meeting recognised the tremendous dedication of Chris and his late wife Pavla in establishing and leading the organisation.
Chris was presented with a certificate showing trees dedicated to him planted in College Wood, plus a picture of the Bluebell Circuit in full bloom. The Committee also gave Chris a wonderful dark leaved crabapple tree for his own garden.
Moving into next year TMAEG welcomed Simon Jackson as the new Chair. He and the Committee will be aiming to continue the project work around Two Mile Ash and are seeking new volunteers and projects to further enhance our environment for the benefit of all. Of particular focus next year will be a wildlife habitat project that will install a number of bird and bat boxes across the estate.
It was an informative and sociable afternoon.
